Abstract:
Objective:To understand the post-traumatic self-changes of parents of children with acute myeloid leukemia, in order to provide reference for clinical development of intervention strategies.Methods:From January to April of 2021, 9 parents of children with acute myeloid leukemia in Children's Hospital Affiliated of Zhengzhou University were selected as the research subjects by means of intentional sampling method. The descriptive qualitative research method was used to conduct semi-structured interview and Colaizzi 7-step analysis for data analysis.Results:Five themes are extracted, which were the initial feelings of disease diagnosis, life perception, personal strength enhancement, interpersonal relationship improvement and promoting factors.Conclusions:Parents of children with acute myeloid leukemia show positive self-changes as well as negative emotions in the perception of trauma. Medical staff should pay attention to positive experience of parents and formulate targeted intervention strategies to promote more positive effects to improve the quality of care.
